What does perfume oil consist of?

A perfume oil is always a mixture of fragrances, which can consist of a neutral carrier oil (e.g. almond oil), essential oils, extracts, essences, synthetic fragrances and other fixing agents as well as stabilizers.

On average, a perfume oil consists of up to 30 or more different fragrances in varying concentrations. Sometimes even more than 80 fragrances are used, making the oils very expensive. It's not for nothing that perfume oils are referred to as liquid gold.
